Cutout

Junk Shadow Art

I think this piece is very successful because the image of a bridge is very clear and easy to understand. Creating the water was the toughest part about this project becaue it had to line up perfectly so it wouldn't cover the entire bridge and would apear to be at a realistic level. We unfortunately couldn't get the sun to work properly and had to cut it out of the project entirely because we couldn't find a way to make sure it stayed facing the projector straight on to ensure that the sun was in a perfectly circular shape. If I was going to do this project again I would make sure to find another matching piece for the other side of the bridge so it would look more realistic.

Value Scale

I think this project went very well because in my humble opinion this drawing looks fairly realistic. One of my favorite parts about this is the way the shadows on the windows with the glare in the middle go from such a dark shade to a much lighter one so quickly. If I was to do this project again I would trace more shapes in the beginning of the project so I could have more contrasting parts. It would also make drawing the entire car much easier which would have made the project better. The most difficult part of this project was making sure the shading transitioned smoothly between shades because I had trouble shading different parts with different intensities. From this piece I learned that shading can make artwork look much more realistic even if color isn't involved.

Rhino Photoshop

This is my rhino in a city street made using photoshop and deleting the background, then moving it into a new background of my choosing.

Turtle and Wildlife Drawings

I think that this piece of work turned out fairly well because I drew more of what I saw rather than using stored symbols. Using this technique allowed me to draw more with the perspective of the object I was drawing (i.e. the turtle). Some things that didnt work was the shading on the seashell because I was trying to show the dimension that it held but ended up only making the shell look more two dimensional. If I was going to redraw this project I would focus more on the back half of the shell to show more dimension but other than that there is not much I would change because I am quite happy with the way these drawings turned out.
